Tim Machin

"Based on drawings of crows I see
from my window, and the silhouettes
you find in 'spotters guides to birds' this sihouette (and crows are always
that, seen in two dimensions, whether on the page of a book or high on a telegraph wire) this image is a kind of fragment from a film strip (think Hitchcock) the size and scale of the bus ticket suggesting a few frames from a film. At the same time, it is a pocket guide to the ultimate urban scavenger - the corvid species that lives most successfully in major cities, picking its foot from the dual carriageway, the litter bin - the sort of thing you spy as you wait on your bus in the rain."
