[insertspace] is an independant curatorial project based in Birmingham, which commissions artists to make new work, often for public sites and contexts.

[insertspace] was founded in 2005, by Cheryl Jones, Charlotte Smith and Matt Westbrook, initially setting out to explore the relationship between art and audience.

[insertspace] will be taking a break throughout 2010 as current directors Cheryl Jones and Matt Westbrook are involved in the launch of Grand Union, a new space incorporating artists studios and a space for curatorial projects. See www.grand-union.co.uk for more info.
